This blog is about our outdoor adventures. What started as an inexpensive way to get outdoors and burn some calories in the Santa Catalina Mountains in southern Arizona has grown to the brink of obsession. We decided to create a blog to share with friends, family, or anyone interested in the hikes and backpacking trips we have gone on. Hopefully, it would provide some good information and inspiration for adventures of your own.
While on a 5 day supported trip in the Andes Mountains of Peru, I carried a Nikon SLR camera with a relatively large, heavy, 18-200 mm telephoto lens. Our guide, David, informed me that my camera was both too large to carry, and not large enough to capture the awesomeness of the surrounding landscape. I couldn't agree more, and have borrowed his commentary as the title of our blog.
