Abel Tasman

Abel Tasman Coast

The Abel Tasman Coast is a section of coastal wilderness on the north coast of the south island of New Zealand. There are many access points and a number of campsites. We decided to squeeze in a one night trip on our New Zealand vacation January 2017. We did a loop starting and ending in Wainui bay.

We followed the coast from Wainui bay, then took the inland route up over Gibbs Hill. We joined the coast at Anapai Bay, then traveled North to our camp in Mutton Cove where we had a one night tent site permit at a grassy beachfront campsite.
